The popular visuals-driven social media site Pinterest has just added a business account service: it offers some extra tools that might make the site more useful for your small business’s marketing efforts.
You can convert an existing personal account or start a new one here.
Here’s what this new type of account can do:
• Verify. The business accounts have a verification system for your website so it’s more difficult for hackers to create faux Pinterest sites and associate them with your business. It’s not impossible, but it’s harder.
• Get widgets. The service allows you to easily put a Pinterest widget on your website to drive business to your Pinterest page.
• Read. Pinterest is posting case studies and best practices on its business accounts main page. A new and evolving resource for companies still figuring out social media.
• Count? There’s no analytics for business on Pinterest just yet, but marketing materials from the company suggest that service could be coming soon. To measure who your visitors are and where they came from could provide huge value.
While it’s early days for this new service from Pinterest, it may be a change that helps your business get on board. Pinterest offers a lot of potential for companies whose products or services have any kind of visual impact, and with businesses now being embraced by Pinterest, that potential could get even bigger.
